These are just a few of my South Island photographs. I live in the town of Nelson on the South Island of New Zealand which is blessed by its surroundings. Sea, forest and mountains are all within easy reach and offer many landscape photography opportunities. I love the challenge of constantly finding different ways to capture the different local environments.

Much of my landscape photography involves discovering new viewpoints of familiar scenes. I’m often seen standing in water, balancing precariously on rocks or thrashing though the undergrowth at strange times of the day! Searching for the elements of light, location, tide and weather and finding the moment when they all come together is literally, an art. Landscape photography as much about perseverance as composition and technical ability.
